The types of personal information collected by Publisher may include, but are not limited to, names, contact information, account credentials, and usage data. Publisher uses this information to:
Publisher will also collect and retain cookies and other tracking technologies for the purposes of enhancing user experience, supporting internal operations, and improving our services. Cookies may include persistent identifiers and other data necessary for the operation of our website or online services or for delivering targeted advertisements based on Customer's browsing behavior and interests; and enhancing and personalizing Customer's user experience. Customer may opt out by clicking the "Opt-Out" or "Unsubscribe" button at www.scouterai.com/settings.
If Customer chooses to connect a bank, depository, or (when available) brokerage or investment account to Scouter, Publisher uses a third-party account aggregation provider (currently Plaid Inc. and its affiliates, "Plaid") to facilitate that connection. Customer authorizes the connection through Plaid Link (or a similar consent flow). Publisher does not receive or store Customer's bank or brokerage login credentials.
Depending on the products Customer enables and Publisher has activated, linked-account information may include institution and account identifiers, account type and ownership metadata, balances, transaction history, and—if investment account linking is enabled—holdings and related portfolio data. Publisher uses this information solely to:
Customer may disconnect linked accounts in Scouter settings (when available) or by contacting support. Upon disconnect or account closure, Publisher revokes access with Plaid and deletes or anonymizes linked financial data as described in Section 1.4, subject to legal retention requirements. Plaid's processing is also governed by Plaid's own privacy policy and end-user agreements presented during Link.
Publisher implements and maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, or destruction. These safeguards comply with applicable laws and regulations and are designed to reasonably conform to industry standards. Application traffic is transmitted over TLS. Customer data stored with our database provider is encrypted at rest. Sensitive third-party tokens (including account-aggregation access tokens when used) are encrypted at the application layer before storage. However, please note that no method of data transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
Publisher may share personal information with:
Publisher does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties, except that we may share hashed identifiers and browsing data with third-party advertising partners (such as Meta or Google) for the purpose of matching your account to their user base and serving you relevant ads. Linked financial account data is not sold.
Publisher retains personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Subscription, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When personal information is no longer needed for these purposes, Publisher securely deletes or anonymizes it.
Linked financial account data is retained while the connection remains active. After Customer disconnects an institution or closes their Scouter account, Publisher revokes the connection with the aggregation provider and deletes stored tokens and derived account data, except for a limited audit record that may be kept for up to 90 days for support and dispute resolution, and except where a longer legal hold applies. For account deactivation versus full deletion requests, contact support@scouterai.com. Security-related inquiries may also be sent to evan@scouterai.com.
Publisher may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in its practices or applicable laws and regulations. Publisher will notify Customer of any material changes to this privacy policy and will update the policy to align with evolving industry standards.
