Top Ideas

Curated high-conviction setups — Premium for full detail.

Top Ideas is a ranked table of curated high-conviction setups drawn from Scouter’s market-wide Expected Moves scans. It is meant for browsing researched scenarios — not as automated trading signals or personalized advice.

What the table includes

Rows typically show:

  • Stock and event
  • Timeframe
  • Sector and industry
  • Current price with modeled target and floor
  • Distance toward the target
  • A Score that summarizes risk-adjusted return context

You can filter by sector and industry when you want a narrower list. The table refreshes on weekdays as new scans land.

Premium vs everyone else

PlanWhat you see
PremiumUnblurred stock, event, and full row detail. Click a row for probabilities, analysis, drivers, and bull/bear context.
Free or StarterStock, event, and related price fields stay blurred. Sector/Industry often still preview so you can see the shape of the list. Upgrade via Pricing for full access.
Logged outSimilar blurring; signup/upgrade prompts apply.

If you are not on Premium, the page shows a Top Ideas vs SPY track-record chart (modeled equal-weight Top 10, weekly rebalance, whole shares, simulated slippage — no holdings shown) plus a link to Case Studies for weekly narrative retrospectives. Live tickers stay blurred until you upgrade.

How to use Top Ideas responsibly

  1. Scan scores and sectors for themes that match your own process.
  2. On Premium, open a row and read the drivers and scenarios carefully.
  3. Cross-check the ticker on Expected Moves for the live schedule and chart.
  4. Review the modeled Top Ideas vs SPY chart and Case Studies for historical context — as research illustrations, not live trade instructions.

What the vs SPY chart shows

Each week Scouter models an equal-weight basket of the Top 10 catalyst research ideas versus buy-and-hold SPY. Trades use whole shares and simulated slippage; leftover cash stays uninvested. It is a hypothetical research illustration, not a managed fund or paper account. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Holdings are never shown on public surfaces so the live ranked list stays Premium-only.

Scouter does not tell you to buy or sell. Treat Top Ideas as diligence inputs you evaluate yourself.

“Everything is blurred”

Unblurred Stock/Event and full detail require Premium. Starter unlocks many other parts of Scouter (unlimited Expected Moves, Starting Lineup, Trend detail) but not the unblurred Top Ideas table. Compare plans: Plans and what’s included.
